bleeding heart

by najat in so like ya3nee hi

my fav. flower is the bleeding heart

the outstanding characteristic of bleeding hearts is no doubt the shape of the flowers, as the plants’ common name suggests, bleeding hearts bear heart-shaped flowers, from which little “drop of blood” dangles at the bottom.

be water

am reading this book “The warrior of light” by Paulo Coelho

and I got to this part in the book, and I had de ja vu cos someone pasted this to me before haha now I know where they got it from

“The warrior of light sometimes behaves like water, flowing around the obstacles he encounters.

Occasionally, resisting might mean being destroyed, and so he adapts to the circumstances. He accepts without complaint that the stones along the path hinder his way across the mountains.

Therein lies the strength of water: it cannot be shattered by a hammer or wounded by a knife. The strongest sword in the world cannot scar its surface.

The waters of a river adapt themselves to whatever route proves possible, but the river never forgets its one objective: the sea. So fragile at its source, it gradually gathers the strength of the other rivers it encounters.

And, after a certain point, its power is absolute.”

REFORM

Ramadhaan Mubaarak!

*** TIME TO REFORM ***

It was narrated that Sufyaan al-Thawri said: “Faith is not wishes or pretence, rather it is what settles in the heart and is proven by actions.”

Al-Fudayl said: “You hearts can never taste the sweetness of faith until they shun worldly pleasures.” And he also said, “If you cannot pray qiyaam at night and fast during the day, then know that you are deprived.”

The sincere believer has a heart like a burning coal, hence it was narrated by al-Haakim in his Mustadrak and al-Tabaraani in his Mu’jam with a saheeh isnaad that the Prophet salAllaahu 3layhi wasSalaam said, “Faith wears out in your heart as clothes wear out, so ask Allaah to renew the faith in your hearts.”

aww love for your bro what you love for yourself

by najat in najat-billah-elal-firdaws

Shuaib received an automobile from his brother as a ‘Eed present. On ‘Eed day when Shuaib came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it. “Is this your car, Uncle?” he asked. Shuaib nodded. “My brother gave it to me for ‘Eed.” The boy was astounded.

“You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn’t cost you nothing? Boy, I wish…” He hesitated. Of course Shuaib knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the lad said jarred Shuaib all the way down to his heels. “I wish,” the boy went on, “that I could be a brother like that.” Shuaib looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, “Would you like to take a ride in my automobile?” “Oh yes, I’d love that.”

After a short ride, the boy turned and with his eyes aglow, said, “Uncle, would you mind driving in front of my house?” Shuaib smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Shuaib was wrong again. “Will you stop where those two steps are?” the boy asked. He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Shuaib heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car.

“There she is, uncle, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for ‘Eed and it didn’t cost him a penny. And some day I’m gonna give you one just like it…then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Shop windows that I’ve been trying to tell you about.”

Shuaib got out and lifted the boy to the front seat of his car. The shining-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable holiday ride. That ‘Eed, Shuaib learned what the Prophet sall Allaahu 3layhi wasSalaam meant when he had said: “love for your brother what you love for yourself”.

basket

by najat in najat-billah-elal-firdaws

An old Muslim lived on a farm with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Qur’an.
His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.
One day the grandson asked, “Grandpa, I try to read the Qur’an just like you but I don’t understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Qur’an do?”
The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, “Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water.”
The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, “You’ll have to move a little faster next time,” and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again.
This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home.
Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.
The old man said, “I don’t want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You’re just not trying hard enough,” and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.
At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house.
The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty.
Out of breath, he said, “See Grandpa, it’s useless!”
“So you think it is useless?” The old man said, “Look at the basket.”
The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.
“Son, that’s what happens when you read the Qur’an.
You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is the work of Allah in our lives.”
The best way to learn is to share what you have learned and practice it in your life
